Good News for America

In recent posts I shared that Israel in the Bible can sometimes be representative of the church and specifically of all nations where God's people enter that nation into a covenant with God. I also shared some historic evidences that point to Great Britain and the United States of America as having entered into just such a covenant that is described here

Isaiah 42:1-7 KJV Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. (2) He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. (3) A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. (4) He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (5) Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: (6) I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; (7) To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

This gentile nation is simply referred to as "the isles" This term is often used as a generic container for distant lands to the west of Israel. Both Great Britain and America are to the west of Israel and the have fulfilled his prophecy. America and Britain have received the blessing of Israel and are about to receive the curses, but what about the final destiny of America?

There ae several reason wh I believe that the final destiny of America is better than the immediate fate that America is about to experience. One this passage could apply both to current history and the Millennium. Historic evidence shows that is has been fulfilled. It could also become fulfilled again.

There is another reference to "the isles", this time along with "the ships of Tarshish" that when compared with Isaiah 42 shows that America will shine bright in the Millennium

Isaiah 60:9-14 KJV Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. (10) And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. (11) Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. (12) For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. (13) The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (14) The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.E

Great Britain and her children, particularly America but would also include Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and possibly South Africa, will wait for God's command. The remnant of these nations who survive the Great Tribulation will seek the first opportunity to bring the last of the Jewish remnant and provide assistance and honor to Israel. The text gives a sterner view of the other nations, threatening destruction on an nation who refuses to serve Israel. Such destruction is carried out after the Miillennium when God rains down fire on Gog and Magog, the descendants of the same Gog and Magog who are about to lead The Coming Ten Horned Islamist Empire into establishing the final beast system.

This part is during the Millenniumm and beyond. We are told that "Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night;" This passage is seen again Rev 21:25-26 When the New Jerusalem comes down from Heaven after the Millennium.

Those who insist that America will be destroyed like Babylon are wrong. While America must suffer devastating judgments due to her sins, America will exist in the Millennium and beyond. Great Britain and her children will be he first to honor Israel in the Millennium. Both God's promise to Abraham and His Law of the Nations gives assurance that America will be greatly blessed by God in the Millenium and beyond.
